El Día de la Independencia, será celebrado en diferentes Parques Regionales del Este de la Bahía.

Quizás la celebración más elaborada será en la granja histórica de Ardenwood en Fremont, donde se llevará a cabo un festival al estilo de 1900 de 10 a.m. a 4 p.m. Las atracciones incluirán música patriótica en el jardín Patterson House y música de violín en el corral. Habrá juegos y concursos durante todo el día. Los visitantes pueden traer un picnic o comprar comida en la granja.

One million fans celebrate Warriors championship in Oakland

The City of Oakland and the Golden State Warriors hosted a parade and rally on Thursday, June 15 to celebrate the 2017 NBA Champions. Initial estimates indicate one million fans from around the Bay Area attended the festivities.

The parade proceeded north up Broadway before turning right on Grand Avenue, then right on Harrison, left on to 19th Street, then right onto Oak Street before ending outside the Henry J. Kaiser Convention Center and along Lake Merritt Boulevard for the rally.

Daniel Zepeda is a ‘Made in Hayward’ fourth grader at Fairview Elementary school, who is humble, enthusiastic, and strives to be a role model, at the young age of 10! First off…100% attendance at school! I never achieved that in all my years of schooling!
 
Family is important, with mom and dad, from Michoacán and Jalisco, respectively, three older sisters, Snoopy, their black and white dog, and five chickens…no rooster! Michoacán or Jalisco? “Michoacán…it’s greener”. He has been to both states, three times and loves it: Family, food, friends, horses, four-wheelers with uncle, and all else.

East Bay Park District announces 2017 wildland fire season

Park supervisors are working with local fire agencies to remove weeds as needed on parklands, and park staff are creating and maintaining a defensible space around park structures to allow firefighters to more safely defend them in the event of a wildfire.

 

Following the transition into fire season by CAL FIRE, the East Bay Regional Park District is also transitioning and preparing for wildland fire season effective May 15, 2017 in its 120,000 acres of parklands in the counties of Contra Costa and Alameda.
